The closing part of plug valve is shaped like a plunger. The open and close of plug valve is actualized by the rotation of closing part. The closing part of valve, namely plug, may be shaped to a cylinder or a cone. A channel is placed between closing parts, normally rectangular. But the channel of conic plug is trapeziform. Plug valves are most applicable for cutting off, putting though and diverting mediums. The diverting function is an important characteristic of plug valves. It adapts to multiple channel structure to enable a single valve being provided with two or even four different channels, thus to simplify the simplify the design of pipeline system and to reduce the quantity of valves and connecting parts in project.
